My aunt used to make this for family gatherings. It is one of my favorite side dishes. I’m a big squash fan and this is so good! I finally tried this recipe out on my own and it brought back good memories of family get-togethers.
The cast:
Not pictured: crushed saltine cracker crumbs
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Chop squash and add to a pot of boiling water and boil for about 15 minutes or until tender. Drain water from pot.
Mix all ingredients together, tossing gently.
Place mixed ingredients in a greased casserole dish.
Bake for 45 minutes.

Squash Supreme

A cheesy squash side dish.
Ingredients
- 3 cups yellow squash, cooked
- 1 cup crushed cracker crumbs
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp garlic salt
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 cup cheese, grated
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Chop squash and add it to a pot of boiling water. Boil squash for about 15 minutes or until tender. Drain water and put squash in a mixing bowl.
Add all ingredients to bowl with squash and toss gently.
Place mixed ingredients into a greased casserole dish and bake for 45 minutes.
